Daylong Liver Class- The Liver’s 3 Phases of Detoxification

  • When: Sunday December 10, 10-4 pm
  • Cost: $95
  • Notes: Bring a bag lunch!
  • Location: My house

The liver has hundreds of jobs, and is a massive root for the body. Like all other organs, we cannot survive without it. The liver ensures fat emulsification by providing bile, and the making of cholesterol essential to bile production, steroid hormone synthesis and cellular health. It is the organ that stores glucose as glycogen, and maintains the balance of blood sugar. And those are just a few of it’s roles.

In this daylong class, we will explore the 3 phases of detoxification, and how they help to protect us from toxic overload as they neutralize environmental toxins, heavy metals, metabolic waste, hormones and bilirubin.

While it would be very easy to let this class slip into the abyss of science, we will stay focused, mainly, on what you can do with herbs and food to help yourself and your clients keep the phases working to the best of their ability. The most complex of information will be broken down into tables that I’ll provide for you to reference when you need it.

Our Materia medica will include foods and plant medicines that support the general health and wellness of the liver, and the 3 phases of detoxification. Also included will be strategies for the following: jaundice, and heavy metal poisoning.

If time permits, we will talk about statins, what enzymes they interfere with in the cholesterol making cycle, and what the deleterious effects are based on this suppression.
