Our kidneys work hard, and fill a dynamic role. They filter 120-150 quarts of blood per day, producing 1-2 quarts of urine. This constant connection with blood allows them to read and distinguish what blood needs to balance, and make adjustments through chemical and hormonal manipulation. Thus, kidneys maintain blood homeostasis for all organ systems to benefit from, and work in tandem with the lungs to maintain blood toxicity and pH.

Class 1: We will go over plants for the kidney.

Class 2 Properties and function of the kidney, and how it interfaces with other organs.

Class 3: Acute and chronic dysfunctions of the kidney will be covered, with formulation for each malady.

Class 4: Presentations and group work.
